A Los Angeles native, Andrew hosted Blackdisco Social Club since 2001 before heading off to New York City where he resides today. Andrew runs the Blackdisco imprint, a well known edits series which finds its releases in the bags of top jocks like DJ Harvey, James Murphy and Todd Terje. Apart from solo endeavors, Andrew is one half of the production/DJ duo The Stallions, alongside long-time disco cohort Lee Douglas of Rong Music and DFA.

Jack Dunning aka Untold is currently releasing some of the finest boundary pushing music around, simultaneously blasting dancefloors and attracting worldwide critical acclaim. Picked up in early 2008 by Hessle Audio, his Kingdom EP was the third release of the then fledgling imprint, introduced a sonic palate that was nuanced, understated but with bags of bass weight.

The Gonna Work Out Fine Ep was a collection of tracks that pushed the genre boundaries by showcasing Jack’s wider musical palate by infusing classic house keys, ravey synths of laterday hardcore jungle as well as giving his twisted take on dark garage on this seminal Ep.

2011 holds further promise. Having just remixed Ke$ha’s #1 Hit “Tik Tok”, and signed a collaboration with Roska to Numbers this past year and more releases on Hemlock of his own material is a given. Jack continues to show his A&R spurs with the likes of Mount Kimbie, James Blake, Cosmin TRG and Ramadanman gracing the label.

2010 sees Bok Bok stand amongst London’s underground music elite. His sound is unique and ever evolving, quintessentially UK but also alien – a grimy futuristic house / space crunk.

As a DJ, Bok Bok has been stacking riddims like Lego bricks since 2004. His roots lie deep in the UK Grime sound. Grime productions obliterated the rulebook, broke club music down to its rawest elements and rebuilt it into new forms. Unorthodox in every way, that music set off Bok Bok down a unique path.  Since then he has spread his sights wider, taking in elements of gutter styles from around the globe, all of which share a certain off-the-wall bass-heavy vibe. Disregarding purism he instead hunts all over for fresh dubplates.

A Long-standing collaboration with fellow London DJ Manara saw Bok Bok perform across the UK, Europe and the US and record mixtapes for such institutions as Bloggaridims, Mad Decent and WFMU.    In 2007 Bok Bok entered the world of production, at first building tools for his own DJ sets then moving onto original material. Beatmaking quickly became a major focus as his tracks found a place amongst London’s new wave of pioneers. As a remixer he would apply the reckless attitude of early Grime, flipping tracks into a whole new context. Bok Bok remixes of Dre Skull, Jinder, Kingdom, Crazy Cousinz and many others are tried and tested underground bangers in clubs internationally.

In 2008 Bok Bok teamed up with like-minded producer L-Vis 1990 to launch Night Slugs, a club night dedicated to their new hybrid sound. Over its two year existence the party has become a cornerstone of the city’s music scene, hosting both home-grown stars and international guests, nurturing fresh talent and showcasing the best forward thinking club music cross-genre. In late 2009, Night Slugs expanded into a label, drawing together a crew of protagonists from various backgrounds: Kingdom from NYC, Egyptrixx from Toronto and Girl Unit, Mosca, Greena and Jam City from the UK.    2010 also sees Night Slugs join London’s legendary Rinse FM. Catch Bok Bok & L-Vis 1990 fortnightly on Mondays 1-3pm GMT.

In Flagranti is the duo of Sasha Crnobrnja and Alex Gloor. They both have been in and around various scenes on opposite sites of the globe between New York and Europe. What they share is the simultaneous discovery of the italian cosmic scene from the late 70’s early 80’s. Both were hooked after hearing some of the mixed tapes in the early 80’s, which had this hypnotic blend of electro-disco-afro-rock-funk-dub. in the search of like minded people and the music they loved, Sasha and Alex meet in Basel/Switzerland. It didn’t take long for Sasha to join Alex who moved to new york in the early 80’s, and also make the move to the big apple, in 1993. the musical bond had become so strong that they decide to start their own record label “Codek Records”, which will mark the 10th anniversary in 2006.

Since the beginning of Codek Records, Alex and Sasha aim to explore the cosmic background in every possible way by creating and putting together different elements of art/graphic design and styles of music in to a seamless flow, which ultimately leeds them to create “In Flagranti”, an act that would reflect all that, and continue to explore the endless possibilities of a ‘cut and paste’ esthetic. Their DIY attitude, which came in many forms like “Organic Grooves” Sasha’s long running weekly party and “SMYLONYLON” tapes, Alex’s by now legendary mix tapes, gained them a lot of street credibility in New York and abroad. In addition the CODEK sleeve design is a big part of the whole esthetics, especially some of the early hand silk screened sleeves, which the Wire magazine calls “the best in the business”. In Flagranti pushes the envelope further by adding video clips that accompanies each song which are displayed on their website www.codek.com and shows the visual influence. Woman-Glamour-Trash-Chic is the identity which brings out the new punk attitude.

From the electronic Disco sound of Gorgio Moroder, Patric Cowley to punkfunk of Liquid Liquid, A Certain Ratio and more contemporary sounds of todays dance music, “Wronger Than Everyone Else” is a erotic funny collage of all the above. Whilst restricted distribution in the past and limited pressings has meant that previous releases have slipped somewhat under the radar, a buzz has been steadily building as many known djs (ivan smagghe, trevor jackson, cloe, steve kotey…) are playing the records and the name appears on many playlists and compilations world wide. Described by xlr8r magazine as “rare grooves from another planet”, the critics have been favorable.

In FlagrantiはSasha CronobrnjaとAlex Gloorのデュオである。2人ともニューヨークからヨーロッパまで世界の国々を巡ってきた。2人70年代後半と80年代前半のイタリアのコズミック・シーンに情熱を抱く。とくにエレクトロ／ディスコ／アフロ／ロック／ファンク／ダブが催眠術にかかったかの如くブレンドされたサウンドの宝庫である80年代前半のミックステープにすっかり魅了されてしまった。

SashaとAlexが出会ったのはスイスのバーゼルである。Alexは80年代前半にニューヨークに移住していたが、Sashaが彼に出会った後1993年にニューヨークに移るまで時間がかからなかった。2人の音楽的な結束は強く、1996年にCodek Recordsを設立するに至った。Codek Recordsの開始以来、AlexとSashaはグラフィックデザインと音楽のありとあらゆる要素を融合してシームレスなフローを形成するという独自の宇宙観を生み出してきた。それがIn Flagrantiである。「カット＆ペースト」の無限の可能性を秘めた美学を絶え間なく追求してきたのだ。

DJ, producer, party host and label impresario Monika Kruse is a genuine legend of the Techno scene. Following her credo of Techno Funk, she has been working dance floors from Chicago to Berlin and Tokyo since the age of 16, playing a central role in German club culture since 1991. Monika Kruse first made her mark in Munich with a residency at Parkcafé and as part of the crew of the city’s seminal Ultraschall club. Since joining the international DJ circuit in the mid-nineties she has not looked back with a residency at the Fuse in Belgium, a role as ambassador of German dance culture for the Goethe-Institut, regular appearances at Wire Japan’s largest rave and at clubs and festivals the world over (Panoramabar/Berghain, Womb, Loveparade, Dancevalley, Mayday, Sensation White, Rex, Watergate) alongside the industry’s finest DJs (Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Takkyu Ishino the list goes on).

Since moving from Munich back to her native Berlin, Monika Kruse’s DJ sets have enjoyed continuous popularity in the world capital of Techno, as have her production exploits. Monika Kruse began producing her own tracks in 1995 and has consistently delivered floor-fillers such as the summer of 2000 hit Latin Lovers, as well as numerous other remixes and collaborations. Her 2008 album Changes of Perception, a collaboration with Cocoon hotshot Gregor Tresher, has gained acclaim with Mix Mag, Carl Cox and Pete Tong all giving big props. Monika Kruse setup the first of her two labels Terminal M in 2000, seeing releases from the likes of DJ Rush, Miss Kittin, Patrick Lindsey to mention a few and then Electric Avenue Recordings in 2003 featuring productions from Tobi Neumann, Martini Brös, Liebe Ist Cool and more.

For Monika Kruse being a DJ has always meant hosting her own parties, starting in Munich in Ultraschall, in tramways or even military exercise areas. These days she’s running the Electric Avenue Nights in various clubs in Berlin. Techno and the club scene are more than pure hedonism to Monika Kruse: With her No Historical Backspin project she combines her passion for music with a straight statement against racism and intolerance. Monika Kruse was recently voted as one of the best 4 German DJs, next to Sven Väth and Paul van Dyk, in Germany´s biggest electronic magazine, Raveline.

Ewan Pearson has been making records for a living since 1998. He has recorded as Maas for Soma, releasing six singles and an album, ‘Latitude’, and under a number of other guises including World of Apples and, currently, Partial Arts for Cologne’s legendary Kompakt label. His remixes for the likes of Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, Seelenluft, Cortney Tidwell and Freeform 5 have made him one of dance music’s most respected producers and have been compiled on ‘Small Change’ (Soma, 2001) and last year’s !K7 2CD retrospective ‘Piece Work’. He has programmed for Goldfrapp and Gwen Stefani and his production credits include Tracey Thorn’s acclaimed solo album ‘Out Of The Woods’, The Rapture’s ‘Pieces of the People We Love’ and M83’s latest ‘Saturdays=Youth’.

As a DJ Ewan’s no slouch either. Two CDs – SciFiHiFi Vol.1 for Soma and July 2007’s fabric were both nominated for Plug awards, and his 2006 Resident Advisor Podcast was voted best of that year by the website’s readers.  A regular at clubs from Privilege to the Pulp to Panoramabar, his sets, like the rest of his career, defy easy categorisation, marrying the independent and the underground with a pop sensibility that’s all his own. Ewan has recently completed the debut album from Australia’s Lost Valentinos, remixes for Hot Chip, Foals, Moon Unit and Junior Boys and is currently working on a new solo record from Tracey Thorn and the debut album from Manchester’s Delphic.

規格外のスーパー・ポテンシャルをもった新人としてキツネ・メゾン・ファミリーに仲間入りしたバンド、CRYSTAL FIGHTERS。ファーストEP「Xtatic Truth」は、エスニックなストリングスのピッキングと全速力のダンス・ビートでフロアを駆け抜けるパンキッシュでエレクトロ、そしてどこかスぺーシーで無国籍という特異なサウンドは、Mixmagにおいても”Single most exciting live show in dance music”と賞され、CSSに続くインディーダンス・バンドとして、早くも来年の様々な野外フェスへの参加もささやかれている要チェックのニューカマーだ。

Crystal Fighters juxtapose the eerie flavour of traditional Basque folk music with churning basslines and catchy energetic vocals, resulting in a jubilant and uplifting sound unlike any other.

They offer raved-up, percussive folktronica, veering from Fischerspooner-style euphoria to Animal Collective-toned delicacy, underpinned by a progressive contemporary London bass sound.   Though their distinctive production techniques take in all this and more, Crystal Fighters draw a broader and more profound influence from the energy and wild liberty of the 80s Spanish/Basque ‘anti-todo’ youth movement and the songs of bands such as Eskorbuto, Sinistro Total and Golpes Bajos.

2008 saw the group take London by storm.  Their unrelentingly raw, intense, and passionate live shows headlining Durrr, Dollop, Matter, Cargo, The End, Secret Garden Festival and beyond, and the group saw features in Dazed & Confused, FACT, Clash, Mixmag, iDJ magazine and a Radio 1 Live Session for Rob da Bank.  The year was finally rounded up with their ubiquitous online hit ‘I Love London’ voted in Mixmag’s Top 100 Records for 2008, the only unreleased record in the 100, crashing in ahead of the likes of Toddla T and Bloc Party.

“Xtatic Truth” will be released via KITSUNE in May and will be featured on the forthcoming Maison 7 compilation released 23^rd May 2009.

“I Love London” will be released via KITSUNE later in the year.

Rhythm Droid (Devon Hughes) has been producing machine funk for 10 years. His musical influences range all the way from Japanese pop to 70’s fusion, to straight-up Detroit techno and French Electro. Past performances include WAREHOUSE702, Le Baron de Paris, Club Asia, SECO, Rockwest, Game, COLORS Studio, fai, Loop, etc. He is currently rocking the Tokyo underground with an all-hardware, no-PC live set. These performances continue to push the boundaries of man-machine interaction in a club environment. Punchy chords, deep bass, dirty electronic beats, live.

Rhythm Droid とはDevon Hughes自身が手掛けるtechnoとelectronic funkのプロジェクトである。16歳の時から約12年に渡り、PCを使わずドラムマシンやシンセサイザーなどの機材のみを使用した楽曲制作をしてきた。現在もクラブシーンでは彼ならではのスタイルを生かし、レコーディングされた音源などは一切使わない臨場感溢れるライブパフォーアンスでフロアを沸かしている。都内では、WAREHOUSE702を始め、Club Asia、Le Baron de Paris、 Club Game、Rockwest、COLORS Studio、SECO Bar、 Loop、fai Aoyama、などで活躍。また、５月にリリースされた”Sunrise on Planet Tokyo” を収録した “mute city ep” は iTunes, Amazon, Juno Downloadなどにて発売中。
今後の更なる活に目が離せない。

Strip Steve (BOYSNOIZE)

As any cool kid of the 90’s, Strip Steve grew up immersed in Armand van helden, Modjo & Daft Punk’s videos, influences which would ultimately change the course of his life. He started mixing on his first pair of turntables at the age of 14, throwing parties with his friends in his hometown of Bordeaux, France. They played any kind of music they found exciting in the pure and simple pursuit of fun.

Its 2009 and Steve is now 22, finding influence in House & Techno, the masters DJ Sneak & Paul Johnson and the Crydamoure compilations. His goal is to bring back House back to the home it should never have left: the dancefloor.

And man does he know how to do just that: his dj sets incorporate crashing Chicago House classics (Robert Armani, DJ Pierre, Marshall Jefferson, Armando…), contemporary Techno Anthems (Boys Noize, the french record labels Institubes & Ed Banger, Switch, Steve Angello…), early 90’s Rave Ufos (this is a kid with a fascination for Prodigy & Bizarre Inc.) and the most distinguished 12″ electronic classics  (Masters at Work, Romanthony, Daft Punk, LFO, Joey Beltram…).

With a strong Techno culture and clear talent, Steve didn’t take long to distinguish himself from the Myspace crowd. His ecstatic and pumping productions have quickly attracted the eyes and ears of electronic music lovers all over Europe, leading to being signed up to Boysnoize Records and a move to Berlin. His production and DJing brings mayhem to the dancefloor of every club he plays in.

14歳で初めてターンテーブルを使い、mixを開始。 Armand van helden、 Modjo、そしてDaft Punkなどの作品に没頭して育ったStrip Steveはもはやその辺のキッズとは大違い。彼らからの影響は彼の人生を180度違うものに変えてしまった。地元フランス・ボルドーで行われた数々のパーティーで友人と共に活躍し、純粋に「楽しむ」を軸に、最高だと思ったトラックは何でもプレイした。

2009年、現在22歳にしてSteveの存在は、ハウス＆テクノ界で実力を示しつつも, DJ Sneak & Paul Johnson、Crydamoureコンピレーションに影響を受けている。彼のゴールはハウスというものを「ダンスフロア」という生きた空間に立ち返らせることだ。

彼が挑戦するその方法とは、シカゴハウス・クラシックス (Robert Armani, DJ Pierre, Marshall Jefferson, Armando…), コンテンポラリー・テクノ・アンセム (Boys Noize, フランスのレコードレーベル InstitubesやEd Banger, Switch, Steve Angello…)、90年代初期のRaveシーン（ProdigyやBizarre Incなどに惚れ込んだ）、そして最も有名な12インチエレクトロニック・クラシックス(Masters at Work, Romanthony, Daft Punk, LFO, Joey Beltram…).などを織り交ぜてmixしていくものである。

強烈なテクノカルチャーと一目瞭然の才能をもって、Strip SteveはMyspace上でのオーディエンスを魅了するのにも時間はかからなかった。彼のぶっ飛んだ作品は目と耳の肥えたヨーロッパ中のエレクトロ・ミュージックをこよなく愛するリスナーをあっという間に虜にした。さらに、Boysnoize Recordsとの契約に成功し、ベルリンに移り住むこととなった。Steveのトラックとプレイで、狂喜に沸かなかった夜はない。初来日を果たすStrip Steveのセットを見逃すな！
